Experience Revolutionary level of clean with Oral-B’s newly launched Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush Range
The World’s no 1 brand in electric toothbrush section – Oral B has launched two models of Electric Toothbrush in India. Oral B Pro 2000 and Oral B Pro 600. Today I will be reviewing the Oral B Pro 2000 Electric Toothbrush.
Physical Features of Oral B Pro 2000 Electric Toothbrush:
As compared to manual toothbrush Oral B Pro 2000 Electric Toothbrush is bigger, longer and heavier. The body looks like that of a slimmer version of an electric razor. It is made of white plastic and has a blue colored rubber grip over it. The rubber grip is not very prominent but has a lot of ridges for a sturdy hold. It has a power button on one side wich has 2 modes and one red light ( pressure sensor) on another side. On the base of the brush body, there is an indent which in plugged into the charging dock. The front lower body has two power indicator buttons out of which one is an indicator for low charge indicator and other flashes when the device is getting charged. The top in a thick needle-like holder where the brush head attaches.
The Cross Action Brush Head
The cross action brush head is provided in the box. This brush head has series of angled bristles for precise cleaning. it very effectively removes plaque and ensures deep clean. The brush head is very small as compared to the manual brush head.
How To use:
Just align the hole at the bottom of the brush with the holder indentation of the device body and press firmly. Simply wet the toothbrush and apply a tiny amount of paste and place it in your mouth before switching it on. If you switch it on outside your mouth all the toothpaste will splash.
Charging and Battery Life:
It takes up to 22 hrs to completely charge the device. The battery will last for around 6-7 days ( depending on 2 minutes usage for twice a day). You can keep it on the charging dock all the time. Just make sure that it doesn’t come in contact with water.
Criss-Cross Bristles at a 16-degree angle which oscillate, rotate and pulsate to give a deep clean every time.
Visible Pressure Sensor – The Visible Pressure Sensor on the Pro 2000 lights up to alert you when you are brushing too hard. Applying too much pressure can lead to harmful over‐brushing.
On Handle Timer – buzzes every 30 seconds to let you know when it’s time to focus on brushing the next quadrant of your mouth and alerts you when you have brushed for the dentist-recommended time of 2 minutes
2 modes – Daily Clean – Comprehensive everyday cleaning & Gum Care – massage mode for gentle stimulation of gums
Round Brush Head – scientifically designed to surround each tooth and reach areas that are often difficult.
To start with physical features I found that the Oral B Pro 2000 Electric Toothbrush is slightly heavy for the manual brush users. But the weight is because of the mechanical things going inside the body. As a manual brush user, it took me time to get used to of the weight and grip of the electric brush.
The Brush head again is smaller than the manual brush but it gives excellent cleanliness to the teeth and gum area as it is intended to clean one tooth at a time. The dual action – Daily Clean and Gum Care also are very useful options. Gum Care mode is gentle on gums and cleans them thoroughly. It reaches to the deepest corners of the gums and cleans effectively.
The Visible Pressure Sensor basically has no use. I think one should know how much pressure has to be applied while cleaning the teeth whether with an electric toothbrush or with a manual one. But yes it does blink when I intentionally tried to check it by applying excessive pressure.
The timer is a good and useful feature. It is a sort of reminder to change the p[art of mouth you are cleaning. It works by giving a short stuttering sound in every 30 secs and after 2 mins it gives a long stuttering sound. Initially, it can go unnoticed but with use, one gets to understand the pattern easily.
Both the body parts can be cleaned underwater but the charger must be wiped only with a wet cloth.
The I dislike about the Oral B Pro 2000 Electric Toothbrush is that it didn’t come with any sort of cover or case or traveling pouch. I know for sure that electric equipment can get damaged when they are carried without cases. It has a heavy price tag. Especially for Indian Market, I feel the price tag is on the higher sides considering there are many features missing like sensitive and polishing modes.
It is worth noting that once you moved from a manual brush to an electric toothbrush the cleaning action might feel a bit harsh for first few uses. This is because the current manual cleaning is not that good or the gums might be sensitive. It will generally fade in about a week. If not then you should consult your dentist. I would suggest starting with the gum care mode for the first couple of uses then gradually shift to daily care mode.
Oral B Pro 2000 Electric Toothbrush comes with a price tag of Rs 5800. It has amazing battery life and 3 years warranty. It quality is definately better than the cheaper alternatives avaialable in the market. The Oral B Pro 2000 Electric Toothbrush gives a complete oral health experience by giving three motions (oscillate, rotate and pulsate) at the same time. Moreover the brush head has a perfect size to clean hard to reach corners.
