“How to get rid of Acne/ Pimples effectively” If this question haunts you all the time then probably you have landed at the right place. Kaya Skin Clinic recently launched Kaya Purifying Spot Corrector. Kaya Purifying Spot Corrector is a spot treatment for the Acne or Pimples.
- Kaya Purifying Spot Corrector is a spot treatment for acne.
- It comes in a small lip gloss like tube with a wand applicator for application.
- Kaya Purifying Spot Corrector is a clear liquid. It has a pungent fragrance of witch hazel.
- The formula is very light weight and almost feels like an astringent. It should be used after a toner and before sunscreen/ moisturizer application. Can be safely used under makeup. It doesnt disturbs makeup application.
The wand applicator is not very hygienic for application. As the acne lesions are mostly infected by bacteria, touching the wand on the area and dipping it back into the product is not a good way. This process will contaminate the product also. I rather prefer using a Q tip. I dip the Q tip once in the lotion and apply it directly on my acne. If I need more product then I dip the another side of the Q tip.
The formula gets evaporated quickly and leaves behind a slight sticky feel. ( It’s just a spot treatment so I don’t mind it being sticky) The stickiness goes away in a while.
The effects of this spot treatment varies from the type and severity of the Acne. Acne are basically of two type – inflammatory and noninflammatory lesions. NonInflammatory Acne are like White Heads and Black Heads while Inflammatory acne are characterized by the presence of papules, pustules, and nodules (cysts).
Under my observation, this product works better for Non Inflammatory ie White Heads and Black Heads owing to the Salicylic + Glycolic Acid present in it. Salicylic acid and Glycolic acid are great exfoliator. They work by clearing the dead skin cells and hence clean any accumulation of dead cells.

Kaya Purifying Spot Corrector also worked on the initial / less severe stages of inflammatory acne. For a more severe acne a higher percentage of Salicylic Acid is required which comes in prescription pharmacy topical ointments.
I have an unending problem of whiteheads, and occasional papules (small, tiny acne). For me Kaya Purifying Spot Corrector works fine. In two to three days ( when used twice) It cleared my whiteheads and tiny papules. But I would suggest to start using the product as soon as the papule starts developing.
My husband, on the other hand, suffers from severe cysts. Sadly, Kaya Purifying Spot Corrector had least effect on the cysts acne despite of 4-5 days of regular application. I think the it’s because the concentration of Salicylic and Glycolic is quite low.
Overall, It is decent product ( also owing to the texture and astringent feel) for newly formed, milder/ smaller acne and whiteheads. If you are suffering with severe acne then this product might not help you. Priced at INR 849 for 8 ml, I feel pharmacy based topical ointments work more effectively.
